Denvra House

Denvra House was our studio's most personal project — a full ground-up build for a multi-generational family wanting genuinely independent living spaces under one roof. The brief required a primary residence, a self-contained suite for ageing parents, and shared communal spaces that brought the whole family together without compromising anyone's privacy. We resolved this through a deliberate split-level plan, separating the home into two distinct wings connected by a shared central kitchen and living core. Each wing has its own entry, its own outdoor space, and its own quiet identity, while still reading as a single cohesive home from the street. Materials were chosen for warmth and longevity — rammed earth walls for thermal performance, exposed timber rafters, and large format terracotta tiles that ground the home in its rural surroundings. This project demonstrates how thoughtful planning can solve genuinely complex family needs without resorting to a compromise on design quality.
